Janet Taylor Mansfield
August 28, 1963 - January 31, 2022
LEWISTON- Janet Taylor Mansfield, 58, of Turner, Maine passed away peacefully in the presence of her children on Monday, January 31st. Taylor, as she was commonly known, was a Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing degree who dedicated her life to the service and betterment of others. She served in the U.S. Air Force, at both Andrews Air Force Base, MD and Scott Air Force Base, IL. After returning to Maine, she spent the majority of her career treating veterans while working in home healthcare through the Togus VA Hospital. Aside from nursing, Taylor had several passions, including traveling the country, visiting with loved ones, swimming and hiking, but most of all helping. If any family member or friend had a problem, whether health-related or not, she would go to great lengths to assist in any way she could. Empathy and compassion were her super powers and she employed them fearlessly in both her professional and personal life. Taylor loved the ocean and braved the frigid Maine waters with joy, but cherished the many trips taken with family to the much warmer beaches of Florida. She could most often be found in the company of her grandchildren: Capri, Colby and Jada. She was willing to partake in any adventure they suggested, near or far. Every year, she would take a road trip with her daughters and/or grandchildren to visit her son, Ethan, his wife, Tori, and Tori's family in Colorado. Taylor was predeceased by her father, Herbert Wood, mother, Esther Eveleth Young-Coombs, brother, Ken Wood, ex-husband, Robert Groleau, nephew, Ray Pomerleau Jr. Survived by sisters, Sherri Eveleth, Kimberly Pugh and Andrea Richman, bothers, John and Larry Wood, children, Jennifer Boutin, Chelsea Fournier, Ethan Weeks, grandchildren, Jada and Colby Boutin, Capri Fournier, sons-in-law, Chris Boutin and Kevin Fournier, daughter-in-law, Tori Weeks, and many more extended family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Good Shepherd Food Bank in her name. Arrangements by the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.lynchbrothers.com .
