Neal G. Peaco
July 28, 1929 - February 7, 2022
LISBON- Neal Gordon Peaco, 92 years old, left Peacock Hill Road in New Gloucester where he passed away at the Lamp Memory Care on Monday, February 7, 2022, while waiting for “The Indian”. Neal was born in Auburn, Maine on July 28, 1929 to Merrill and Sybil (Brewer) Peaco. He attended schools in New Gloucester. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Neal enjoyed whittling, hunting, fishing, exploring the Maine woods, the coast of Maine villages and towns, golf, archery and all the sports the VAST Program offered at Pineland Farms with fellow veterans and friends. He and Cally enjoyed many winters in Florida. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #12 and the American Legion Post #58. Neal is survived by his wife Cally (Carolyn) of 29 years; daughter Lucinda Brakey; sons Daniel and Thomas; step children Daniel Wiley, Teri Karnopp and families; he was a grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Ed Marston and Brian Bennett; sister-in-laws Yvonne Marston and Lorraine Brown; his Brewer cousins of Freeport; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister Phyllis and his brother Keith; and his first wife Beatrice; brother-in-law’s Sidney, Fred and Roger Bennett. Graveside services celebrating Neal’s life along with military honors will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Neal’s memory to the Maine Veterans Home c/o Activity Fund, 477 High Street, South Paris, Maine 04281 or to VAST, Veterans Adaptive Sports Training c/o Director, Kristina Sabasteanski , Pineland Farms Outdoor Center, 15 Farm View Drive, New Gloucester, Maine 04260 or to a charity of one’s choice.
