Lorraine I. Gervais

September 11, 1930 - January 23, 2022

Auburn-Lorraine Irene Gervais died peacefully on Sunday, January 23rd at Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by loving family. Born on September 11, 1930, she was one of nine children born to Joseph and Yvonne (Blais) Dallaire in Berlin, New Hampshire. She was a proud graduate and alumni of Saint Dominic High School in Lewiston, Maine. As a large part of her local community, Lorraine devoted 30 years to her career as Director of Social Activity at Marcotte Nursing Home. She would then go on to spend time volunteering at D’Youville Pavilion, creating many lifelong friendships. A devout Catholic, Lorraine was also part of the Association of Grey Nuns and the Dames of Saint Anne. Lorraine was a tenacious and outspoken woman who devoted all of her life to love her children, grandchildren, and church community, deeply and generously. She shared her social spirit and love of fashion with members of the Red Hat Society. Lorraine also loved reading and spending time at the ocean with family. She is survived by her children; Susan Morency and husband Donald of Nokomis, Florida, Daniel Gervais and wife Jacqueline of Lewiston and Joline Poulin and husband Michael of Brunswick. Lorraine is also survived by her five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Yvonne Dallaire, her siblings, and her beloved husband, Norman Gervais. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to the entire staff at St Mary’s Residence and Androscoggin Hospice House for their care and attention during her final months of life. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to Androscoggin Hospice House Angel Program. Lorraine will always be remembered for her amiable and determined spirit, and she will be missed dearly by many. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday Jan. 28th at 10:00AM at the Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul Lower Chapel. Arrangements by Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home Lewiston, ME. 784-4023 Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.lynchbrothers.com
