John D. Ward

August 22, 1959 - April 15, 2022

AUBURN- John D. Ward, 62, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin with his loving family by his side following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lowell, MA on August 22, 1959 the son of the late Elmer and Jeannette (Leno) Ward and had been a resident of this community for the past 33 years. One of his biggest passions in life was snowmobiling and four-wheeling with his sons and many friends and his Sunday driving excursions with his wife Lucy. The time that he was most happy was his time spent with his family and friends. We were all so lucky to have John in our lives. His infectious smile and laugh and his never ending love and generosity for everyone he knew. His unconditional love for his family and friends will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Lucy Ward whom he married on June 25, 1988 of Lewiston; two sons Christopher Ward and his wife Shannon of Clermont, Florida and John Ward Jr. and his wife Julee of Lewiston; one daughter Tanya Goudailler and her husband Scott of Pawcatuck, Connecticut; seven grandchildren Garrett Powers, Ethan Ward, DJ Pacewicz, Logan Ward, Cameron Goudailler, Chelsea Harig and her husband Daniel and Hannah Ward and her fiancé Justin; one great grandchild Jaxson Kidd who was John’s best little buddy; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Rebecca Powers; his grandson Zachary Kidd; his two brothers Ticker and Richie Ward; and his sister Ruthie Howard. Funeral services honoring John’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 4:00 PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John’s memory to the Androscoggin Hospice House, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn, Maine 04210. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 2-4 PM prior to the service at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023.
