Helen E. Ayotte

January 6, 1916 - July 5, 2009

AUBURN - Helen E. Ayotte, 93, a resident of the West Minot Rd., Minot died early Sunday morning, July 5th at the Clover Health Care Care Facility following a long illness with her family by her side.She was born in Auburn, January 6, 1916, the daughter of Irving and Jennie (Thomas) Verrill. She attended Auburn schools, and was the first in her family to graduate in 1932 at the age of 16 from Edward Little High School. Following her education she was employed as a waitress at Howard Johnson's in Boston residing on Beacon Hill. She then was a patient for 3 1/2 years at the Hebron Sanitarium. In 1942, she met and married Lawrence Ayotte. They both resided in Tampa, Florida for a short time during the war. Following the war they moved back to this area residing in Lewiston, Auburn, and Sydney. In 1951 they bought their farm in Minot where she loved her garden and the outdoors.Survivors include one son, Lawrence "Mark" Ayotte and wife Irene of Minot; three daughters, Judith Greenwood of Italy; Eileen Davis and husband, Alan of Houlton; and Jacqueline Flowers and husband, Dale of Minot. one step daughter, Freida Spitz of Exeter, RI. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence; one step daughter, Patsy Smith; 4 brothers, Urban, Eldon, Howard, and Kenneth as well as one sister, Mildred Sawyer. AYOTTE died in Auburn, July 5, 2009, Mrs. Helen E. Ayotte age 93 years a resident of Minot. Funeral services honoring Helen's life will be celebrated SATURDAY 11:00AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son. Burial will be private at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn. Memorial donations in Helen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Maine Chapter 170 US Route One Suite 250 Falmouth, ME 04105 or www.alz.org Online condolences and sharing of memories may be expressed at www.lynchbrothers.com Family and friends are invited to visit Friday evening only from 6-8PM at DILLINGHAM & SON MEMORIAL CHAPEL 62 Spring St., Auburn, 784-6449
